Eetley National Scrabble League 2011

After three months of intense competition, the 27th edition of the National Scrabble League, sponsored by Tetley Teas and organised by the Malta Scrabble Club, is now entering its final and most crucial phase.

In Division I, Theresa Brousson is set to claim a record sixth title in a row, thus emulating the five consecutive titles won by David Delicata, who after looking able to challenge Brousson for the title is now fighting to fend off the challenge of Mario Saliba who is trailing very close behind in third place.

In Division II, the race is still too close to call as Mario Seychell has a small edge over Josephine Mayo and defending champion Frans Farrugia.

A similar balance prevails in Division III where Carmen Stafrace is being chased for first place by Marlene Calleja and Laura Borg. (Click here to view latest NL results and standings)

All this is happening as the Malta Scrabble Club, in conjunction with CentreStar and under the auspices of the Kunsill Malti ghall-iSport, is gearing to stage two international Scrabble tournaments in the first half of May at the Seashells Suncrest Hotel in Qawra, namely the 3rd European Open Scrabble Championship and the 4th Malta International Scrabble Open.
